What regulations must you comply with at your workplace?
Rules and regulations apply at the workplace to protect your safety and health. You must comply with and apply these regulations – so pay attention, participate, and report if something is dangerous.
You should know:
- You must follow safety measures and rules. If, for example, you are supposed to wear safety shoes or certain protective clothing – then you must do so. This protects you and others.
- You must not endanger yourself or others. This means: No alcohol or drugs at work, no intention to deliberately violate rules.
- You must participate when your employer or supervisor explains safety rules to you (e.g., instructions, safety briefings). If you are shown something, you must apply it at work.
- You should report hazards or defects. If you see that something is broken or dangerous, speak up – to prevent accidents.
Why this is important:
- If you comply with the regulations, you work safely and healthily. This protects you and your colleagues.
- At the same time, you help to prevent accidents or illnesses. And you contribute to safety in the company – that is your responsibility and your right.
- Your employer is responsible for safety. However, they can only implement this if you do your part and behave safely.
