What does the security specialist do?

The occupational safety specialist / safety officer (Sifa) helps to prevent accidents and health hazards at work. They ensure that your workplace is safe.

You should know this:

• The occupational safety specialist explains safety rules to you. They show you how to work safely.
• They inspect workplaces. In doing so, they identify hazards, such as unsafe machines or tripping hazards.
• They advise your employer. This way, workplaces can be made safer.
• They assist with safety instructions. This way, you know what to pay attention to.
• If you notice unsafe situations, you can address them. They will help you further.
